HOTELS
New York City has thousands of hotels to choose from in a wide range of prices. And while we don't have enough room-seeking, out-of-town guests to constitute a block reserved at a particular hotel, here are a few options to help get you started:
Pod 51 Hotel - Affordable, modern hotel in Midtown
Hotel Wellington - Midrange hotel in Midtown near Central Park
The Standard East Village - Higher end hotel in the East Village, near the Public Theater
But if we're being perfectly honest, our real suggestion is Air BnB. For those of you not familiar, it's a great website that allows people to rent out their apartments (or just a room in their apartment) like a hotel. From cheap artist studios to high-end penthouses, you can get a lot more bang for your buck than at a hotel. And staying in an apartment feels more like a real New York experience. We've used it in many cities with great success, and so have our friends. Check it out.
...Also, don't feel pressured to stay near the wedding venue - The Public Theater is easily accessible by subway and cab. If you have any questions about a particular hotel or neighborhood that you may not be sure about, don't hesitate to reach out. We're happy to help.
"What the hell does 'Glamour' mean?!?"
OK, so you've seen the invitation, and you were excited till you got to the last line. Everybody take a breath. The Glamour dress code should make you feel free, not bound. "But is it black tie?" It is if you want it to be. "Do I have to wear something crazy?" Not at all. We simply want everyone to have an excuse, a license, to get as gussied up as they darn well please. What attire makes you feel like a bar of solid gold? Wear that.
Still confused? Here's help for the ladies:
Rent the Runway - Exactly what it sounds like. A rental service for designer dresses.
Dry Bar - A salon specializing in the perfect blow out.
Gentlemen, our fashion options have always been more rigid. While one can never go wrong with a jacket and tie, we glamorously encourage you to push any boundary you please.
